Reddit is losing it over one woman’s wildly relatable MIL meltdown, and the story reads like a romcom — except your popcorn is anxiety.
A 28-year-old woman shared on Reddit’s Am I the A**hole? forum how her mother-in-law (yes, you read that right) basically moved into her house uninvited — right when her husband came back from a two-month work trip.
And guess what? She. Just. Wouldn’t. Leave.
The mother-in-law — 56 and very much uninvited — stayed for nine entire days, following the couple around, joining every conversation, and basically acting like the third wheel in their marriage. Despite multiple polite hints, she wouldn’t budge.
Cue MIL packing up and leaving.
But it didn’t end there — she’s now texting non-stop, calling the DIL “disrespectful” and saying her son “deserves better.”
Well internet called DIL an hero and applauded her for finally standing up for herself.
