Being born a woman comes with many inherent disadvantages.
Even we have made huge strides on how the female gender is treated in this day and age. We still have a long way to go. I am not at all belittling all the things that men go through as well but today we are here to talk specifically about women and the problems they face every day. It all started when one Twitter user asked the innocuous question “Tell Me You’re A Woman Without Telling Me You’re A Woman.”
It seems simple enough and might even look like a fun challenge. But most of the answers just paint a horrible view of today’s society. Even today, we do not have the freedom to choose. And if we somehow bear the brunt of the choice and do what we want. We then spend the rest of our life having to build up protective thick skins that can help us when people through insults at us just for being a woman at the end of the day.
Middle eastern women have it quite different than western people.
As feminism is even less popular in the middle east.
I started this thread as a way for women to share their experiences and the prejudices they face in everyday life. The answers showed that women all over the country and world even had the same experiences. We fought the same battles.
#1 It might seem like a funny thing but stereotypes are just hurtful.
#2 Even though working to provide for your family should never be misconstrued as something else.
#3 This user has quite a few comments.
#4 I think most women have done this before.
#5 This might just be a human thing.
#6 Especially if you have booked an Uber ride.
#7 I have never even thought of this but it’s so true.
#8 because we are automatically a nurse or a nanny.
#9 ‘She is doing quite well for a woman.‘
#10 Or some other sort of weapon.
#11 Women belong in the kitchen after all.
#12 Women are thought of as less intelligent beings.
#13 ‘Why are you still not married?’
#14 A husband is not a baby.
#15 I think I am a bit lost here.
#16 Punching things is okay but crying is not.
Instead of asking women what needs to change about women’s rights, I think what needs to change is the perception of men. Women are still looked at as inferior beings who need to be told what to do and how to live every single day.
Men need to actively listen to women, overcome their biases and age-old mental conditioning, and treat women as equals. These discourses are being labeled feminism and the women who talk about this, feminists. But if you think about it, all women want is to left alone and not be told by men how to lead their lives.
#17 Perhaps her partner?
#18 Because nobody wants a masculine-looking woman.
#19 Elevators are just the bane of existence for many out there.
#20 Even if you usually butcher the cake.
#21 Apparently sitting comfortably is not ladylike.
#22 That is all a woman is good for anyway.
#23 I don’t think anything else needs to be said here.
#24 That is what a calendar is for.
#25 Of course, what else would they think?
#26 Doesn’t seem like that is enough time for a night of proper sleep.
#27 Because having kids is the only future a woman can want.
#28 And they will ask about that at every gathering.
#29 And when men do it, it’s called being confident.
#30 After all there can be no other reason a woman can reject someone.
Have any other statements that encapsulate the statement of being a woman without expressly telling it? If so let us know in the comments below.
