AITA for Accepting My Fiancé’s Children but Rejecting My Ex’s Love Child?

2 min 1,353 0

Some wounds never fully heal — especially the ones carved by betrayal. My ex-husband and I once had the kind of love that felt unshakable. But infertility, his selfish desires, and the ultimate betrayal destroyed everything we built. Two years later, I’ve rebuilt my life with a wonderful man who loves me for who I am, kids and all. But now my ex has come storming back into my world, accusing me of being a hypocrite because I can embrace my fiancé’s children but refuse to embrace the child he had while cheating on me. He insists it’s the same thing… but is it really?

Let’s see what other Redditors have to say about this story.

I’ve gone over this in my head a hundred times. My fiancé’s children came into my life through love and respect; my ex’s child came into existence through deceit and heartbreak. That’s not the same, no matter how much he wants to twist it. His accusations are just another attempt to make me feel guilty for drawing boundaries after he crossed the ultimate line. I know deep down I’m not wrong — I’m just protecting myself from a pain I never asked for and never deserved. So if that makes me a hypocrite in his eyes, then so be it.
