It’s amazing how fast a fun night with friends can turn into a low-key character assassination over… pizza. Cheap pizza. I’m talking $6-a-pie, “you could feed a small army for the price of a fancy coffee,” cheap. But apparently, offering $3 for my share of what I ate makes me stingy enough to earn a new nickname — one I hate — and a side of public shaming. And now I’m left wondering if I’m genuinely being cheap… or if my best friend is picking a fight over something way deeper than a few slices of pizza.
The Setup: Cheap Pizza, Expensive Friendship

The $3 “Scandal”

Why That Stung???

Trying to Address It (and Getting Nowhere)

Why I Think There’s More Going On.

Let’s see what other redditors have to say about OP’s story!!

At the end of the day, it wasn’t about the pizza for me — it was about fairness. I ate less than half a pizza. I paid for less than half a pizza. But somehow, that’s “weird” enough to turn me into the designated cheapskate of the group. I can’t decide if I should be questioning my math… or my friendship. So, Reddit — was I being tight-fisted here, or is this just one of those situations where pizza is the excuse but the real issue is something else entirely?
