AITA for saying it’s not my problem if my ex and her husband can’t afford their kids?

Family, betrayal, and financial responsibility don’t always mix well—and in my case, they’ve been a recipe for years of conflict. My ex-wife cheated on me while pregnant, dragged me through custody battles, and has continued to make co-parenting as difficult as possible. Despite everything, I’ve fought hard to give my son stability. But now, she’s demanding that I step in and provide for her other children—the ones she had with her affair partner. When I refused, things exploded, and now I’m being painted as a heartless je*k.

Let’s find out what other Redditors think about this story.

At the end of the day, my son is and always will be my priority. I’ve stepped up where Marin has failed, and I’m not about to let her guilt me into supporting children who are not mine. I provide for my kid, I follow the court orders, and I do what I can to give him a good life. If that makes me the villain in her story, so be it. I’d rather be “the a**hole” in her eyes than fail my son by spreading myself thin for kids who aren’t my responsibility.
